It has been a year since I left my initial review. My husband and I have been back a few times since but I feel compelled to let people know how genuinely great this place is... ambience is old Floridian, so lovely and peaceful. The Lobster Special, including twin lobsters flown in daily from N.H. Served with hot rolls, crisp salad and a side ( if you like sweet potato mash... you have to try this ;) All that food for $39/person. We always manage to bring home lobster claws so we can have lobster salad rolls the next day... saved the best for last.... Tropical Acres has a unique way of serving their customers, two servers working in sync per table... it certainly works well. Tonight was so exceptional with the 'team' of Kathy and Billy... ask for them and you will not be disappointed. The lobster special lasts, as does the northeast lobsters, to the beginning of November...we are planning to go twice more until it begins again in mid May. It is that good. Enjoy! I should also mention that the lobster special is Mon-Friday only... trust me, if you like New England lobster, terrific service and a nice calm ambience, this is your place!

I cannot say enough about this restaurant. It has been around for years and the quality of the food is still as good as always. I had my daughter sweet 16 years ago and we just recently had our daughter's wedding reception there. If you're planning an event, Vicky is your go to person! She goes over and beyond and is the most sweetest person I've ever met. She goes out of her way to make everything perfect for your occasion. The rest of the staff is amazing as well. don't forget about this restaurant. It is amazing. Food is delicious .

We decided to take our friend to Tropical Acres for his 40th birthday. We were thinking about Eddie V's which is a higher level steakhouse altogether, but wanted to try the cool 70s retro ambiance of Tropical Acres. It definitely reminded me of being in a Brady Bunch episode! I wasn't sure of a dress code, so told my friends polo, button shirt and long pants should get us by. Surprisingly we were overdressed as the majority of the men were super casual in cargo shorts, worn t-shirts and maybe Hawaiian shirts. We're definitely in FL. Some of the senior citizens did dress up. Bottom line, don't worry about what to wear. Reservations were easy to snag on a Tuesday night for four of us. We arrived at our reservation time and promptly seated in a booth. Cocktails were excellent so the bartenders know their stuff. Tuesday is wine night and most of the wine bottles are 50% off. The higher-end wines are only 20% off but we still went for Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Excellent wine for red meat. Erik, our server, was fantastic. He definitely knows the menu and was friendly and cordial throughout our dinner. He tag-teamed with Evelyn who also was fun, enjoyable and was constantly keeping our table and tableware up to snuff. The meal was paced right. Salads were fine. I honestly have never had escargot served this way: The snails were shelled, small and almost appeared drowned and scooped into a bowl. They tasted just ok. I had to ask a friend what the other appetizer was because it was unrecognizable and unappetizing. What looked like 3 meatballs smothered with melted cheese were actually stuffed mushrooms. They tasted better than they looked. Our 14oz Rib Eye steaks came out maybe needing more char, but were cooked to the right temperature. Unfortunately both our steaks were a bit tough and chewy with too much gristle. I'd be surprised if these were prime cuts. Luckily I tasted my friend's 10oz Prime Rib, and that was delicious...I should have went with my intuition! Our friend got a complimentary cheesecake slice with candle. The dessert cart was rolled out. In another first for me, some of the desserts were just photos, not samples of the real thing. We went with a photo of tiramisu which was passable. Summary: Ambiance 4 stars, Service 5 stars, Appetizers 3 stars, Entrees 4 stars, Dessert 3 stars. When we come back to Tropical Acres, and I'm sure we will, please remind me to order the Prime Rib.

We went to Tropical Acres yesterday for a friend's birthday, and we were blown away by how great the service was. Erik and Evelyn were the perfect team, and I hope we get them as waitstaff the next time we come. We started our night with cocktails, which were tasty and priced right. I got an Old Fashioned, and the rest of my dining troupe had Dirty Martinis with stuffed blue cheese olives--now that's a bonus for sure! Oh, speaking of drinks, on Tuesdays, they have half price bottles! We ordered a bottle of Caymus b/c it was a friend's b-day, so we were treating him. As for food, I got the Prime Rib, which was super tasty. I added a hint of salt before eating to heighten the flavor, but I'd definitely order again. Another dining guest got the filet and said it was amazing. My two friends who ordered ribeye steaks said they were a little gristley but tasted great. It must have been a fluke because both of them had dined at Tropical Acres previously and said they had never ordered a steak that was chewy. Some of the apps and sides we tried included the escargot (very tasty), stuffed mushrooms (I've had better; these needed to be cooked more), and creamed spinach. As for atmosphere, Tropical Acres is your old school 70s/80s vibe steakhouse. It likely looks the same inside as it did 40-50 years ago. But, to me, that is cool. It just adds to the overall vibe. I'd definitely hit up Tropical Acres again--maybe even for Happy Hour. I hear they have an awesome one!

There nothing like an old school steakhouse and this one is right down the middle of the fairway. I visited Tropical Acres as a part of a bachelor party and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. The service was great and the dining room was cozy and very elegant with its signature wood carpentry. Steaks and seafood were amazing as well. Wonderful night out with the boys eating steaks at this fine establishment.

Yes this is a long but thorough read so be prepared. Tropical acres steakhouse in Dania beach. I have never been here before so this is my first time dining and a very objective review Made a 630 reservation and that was on purpose as I figured that would be the busiest time of day so a good gauge to measure. I pulled up and the lot was packed, I parked way down at the end cause I can use the exercise. Didnt realize how big this place is and how many they can seat. Walked in about 625 and there were 2 people ahead being seated. I have my info and they said it would Be a few mins but by 630 I was at my table. Within 2-3 minutes my server Gabriella welcomed me and asked had I ever been there before and went over the special with lobsters. I explained no but I knew what I was going to order as I had looked in advance. Also I'm not a fish or seafood person nor a prime rib guy My drinks were out promptly and my salad was brought out with the nice hot rolls right away. The salad and dressing were good and dressing wasn't overpowering. I ordered the filet mignon and Gabriella asked if I wanted it butterflied as it would come out faster and might be a longer wait if not so I said sure. I also had the baked potato and ordered a side of the steakhouse mac and cheese. By the time I finished the salad I waited maybe a few minutes more and my dinner was out maybe by 7pm Gabriella checked on me quite a few times to make sure everything was ok. When my drink was empty she came by right away to ask if I needed a refill and came by again before the end of the meal to just refill the drink unasked. I was too full for dinner for dessert. The one mistake was my own in that when they butterflied the steak I should have asked them to cook less as the steak was a little overcooked for my liking but now I know for next time or maybe I just wait it out a bit longer. Would I come back? Definitely. I had a very enjoyable meal and fantastic service. Gabriella was tipped well for the great service and the small talk when she heard I was from NY I think the mistake people make is people compare this to a 5 star Michelin establishment(yes I know there is no such thing, I was being overdramatic to get a cheap laugh) in their expectation and that's just unrealistic. The value of the meal I don't think can be beat, if you want that Michelin place you're also gonna pay 2-3x the price. As an aside note directly to my left diagonal was a table for 3 and one of the ladies ordered the 6 oz prime rib. She wasn't happy with it and I could make out part of it where she states to her party oh it doesn't look like the picture and it's so small. (6oz to me would be the appetizer for me lol, not sure what she expected). The issue here is she never tells the server who came back over a few times. It wasn't until he asked if she wanted to box up the rest did she say something to him. Now they did the right thing and took off the charge for her dinner but meanwhile now she continues to complain afterwards about it. The poor server looked kinda defeated but I'm not sure why she didn't just bring this up from the start and once he's apologized and taken the meal off what additional can be done?

For my husband's birthday, I decided to treat him to a special dinner at Tropical Acres Steakhouse, a longtime favorite of his. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated in a reasonable amount of time, considering how busy the restaurant was. Our waitress, Diane, was an absolute delight. Her warm personality and attentive service made our dining experience all the more enjoyable. From start to finish, every aspect of our meal exceeded our expectations. To start off, we indulged in crisp and refreshing salads--his a Caesar, mine a house salad with the restaurant's creamy blue cheese dressing, a personal favorite. I opted for the shrimp scampi, which, outside of tgeir steak is a favorite of mine. Meanwhile, my husband savored every bite of his perfectly cooked porterhouse steak, accompanied by a classic baked potato. The attention to detail in every dish, combined with Diane's exceptional service, made my husband's birthday dinner truly memorable. We left Tropical Acres Steakhouse feeling satisfied.

We are practically neighbors. We live one block away from this place. After living in my house for almost 20 years, the time has come for a visit. After learning about their happy hour deals, we decided to try it out! The happy hour deal is decent. In addition to the drinks, they also offer a number of small-portion appetizers. We decided to go with a few of the items on this visit. The Coconut Shrimp were fried with good flavors, even though I am not a big fan of coconuts. The TA Wings were interesting. It was grilled, dressed in nice BBQ sauce, and tasted good. Also, the escargot was one of our favorites. Like the sauce it came with, and the escargot was soft and juicy. Last but not least, I also like their Fried Zucchini Slices. I know we ordered many fried dishes, but this one was fried lightly, and I can still taste the zucchini, not just the grease from the fryer. All in all, it was a good visit. The place was busy during happy hours. It took a while for us to get our food and drink orders, but the bartender did her best given she was the only bartender working that night.

My favorite steakhouse in South Florida! It's old school done right every time. I've been here a hundred times. James and Mark provided excellent service. We knew to make reservations early in the fall. It was special because my mom came from Michigan with her husband. I usually cook Christmas dinner but decided to spend the day with mom relaxing and looking at old photo albums. We arrived just on time for our 4:00 pm reservation. It was raining pretty bad but I didn't want to be late. The staff at the check in desk were kind despite the large crowd of people. We were given table 151 and then were told to wait. I didn't mind at all. It gave us time to look at the menu and for me to think about what I want to buy the next time that I pass by the butcher shop. We ended up being sat at table 81 which was cozy and has newly renovated seats in the booth. The Caesar salad was on point! I truly think they should sell their dressing. I will be first to buy a half dozen bottles of this heavenly goodness. Almost every restaurant has Caesar salad these days but real Caesar salad dressing is hard to come by. The rolls were warm and it's always comforting to see the same square pats of butter wrapped in gold foil. My mom had the rack of lamb. She has travelled the world and eaten in some of the best restaurants, Mom was ecstatic with how perfect the lamb was. It was the cook and the quality that impressed her. Mom also loved the sweet potato casserole. Her partner had the holiday turkey dinner and was pleased. They even brought him a side of extra gravy. My daughter had the filet mignon as she always does. It was perfectly medium rare. I got the surf and turf because I love their filet and their lobster just add much. It was the best surf and turf dinner I've ever had in my life. The lobster tail was sweet and juicy. The filet was huge, perfectly medium rare and the mashed potatoes on the side were the best holiday comfort food one could ask for. We had a wonderful time together. Mom leaves today and won't be with me for my birthday on Thursday so it was extra special to have time with her at Tropical Acres. The family that owns this establishment is dedicated to providing the best. I can't wait to have another Yelp party here with friends!
